Welcome, and thank you for taking a moment to read this blog. I realize that in today’s world your time and attention are pulled in many different directions. I would like to invite you to take a moment to ponder with me the meaning of the New Year. Many of us look forward to new beginnings and the New Year is a time when new goals and promises of change come in like a rushing wind. Some of us may be saying goodbye to familiar people, places, and things and perhaps even mourning change or loss.
As we look upon our life and begin to form new goals for ourselves, let us take a moment to think about how we were able to successfully achieve prior goals be them educational, financial, physical, spiritual, or relational. Did we break down the goal into bite size pieces? Did we live one day at a time? Did we get up a few minutes earlier to allow for me time? When we bring to light how we created these successes, we can recreate them in our new goals and create future success. This revelation can create transformation.
The power of success begins in mindfully taking a look at your life and how you move through it. You may be the kind of person who prefers baby steps, or you may be the kind of person who “takes the bull by the horns.” In either case, you must realize who you are, make the shift, and change in harmony with your true self. Create small victories along the way and you will win the war. So let the warrior in you take charge, and go for it!
