Congratulations for making it through the holidays. If we don’t take care during this time of year, the hustle and bustle of the holiday season can get the better of us. Looking back, here are three simple tips to create a less stressful season in the future:
1. Get plenty of rest. Your mind and body work more effectively when you are well rested, especially when you have the added stress of the demands of the holiday season.
2. Know your limits. Learn to set boundaries on how you spend your time and with whom you spend time with. It’s OK to say no. Take care of yourself in this way to create a positive attitude, which will be felt and seen by those you choose to spend time with.
3. Talk to a professional. If you have emotional health concerns that you are having trouble navigating, consider seeking professional help. Sometimes experiences such as the loss of a close relationship can make the holidays especially difficult or lonely. Talking to a counselor will provide you with a therapeutic, non-judgmental and confidential place to express yourself and heal.
Please join us on January 23, 2016 at The Center For Relationships for the “Post Holiday Experience” workshop. We encourage you to take some time for you and enjoy a moment with others who may be going through the same things you are experiencing. The workshop will be held from 10:00 – 11:30 am, at 8810 Business Park Drive, Suite 200, Austin, Texas 78759. The cost of attendance will be only $10 per person.
