The Center for Relationships offers the following peer supervision and consultation groups for health professionals
Couples Therapy Consultation Group
Group meets 2nd & 4th Mondays from 12:00 to 1:20 pm at the center
Led by Dr. Vagdevi Meunier
Dates: Second and Fourth Monday of each month, 7:00 to 8:30 pm
Cost: $60 for 80 minutes (minimum commitment 6 months) Advance Purchase of 10 sessions for $500
This is a structured consultation group that addresses specific issues and challenges in working with complex couples. Models discussed will include all current models of couples therapy with a focus on Gottman and EFT. Through the use of lectures, demonstrations, role plays, case consultations, and group discussion the leader will facilitate the exploration of challenges in working with complex couples, creative tools and techniques for negotiating with impasses, helping couples on the brink, healing from betrayal and other injuries to the relationship, and especially working with couples where another psychological disorder is co-morbid.
Goals of the group are –
- To create a safe atmosphere for discussing and sharing personal challenges in working with couples
- To develop awareness and tools for coping with counter-transference
- To support and facilitate the development of best practices in couples therapy among the participants
- to network and mentor each other in professional growth and leadership in the community in the specialization of couples therapy.
Continuing Education Credits are available for Licensed Professional Counselors and Marriage and Family Therapists. Social Workers and Psychologists forthcoming.
